For the finale of the ASO’s 2024 Spring Season, the orchestra takes on Mahler’s behemoth Third Symphony in D Minor. The piece takes the audience on a philosophical journey, from the primordial soup of Earth’s depths to the transcendent pinnacles of human love. With six movements, an enormous orchestra, and two choirs, Mahler’s maximalist masterpiece is an uplifting celebration of the universe and a triumphant season finale. Ann McMahon Quintero, the stunning mezzo-soprano, appears as guest soloist with the ASO.  Quintero has performed major roles at leading international and American opera houses, appeared with major symphony orchestras here and abroad, and is a regular soloist with Boston Baroque.
