CONCERTOFEST 2026

Saturday, March 7, 2026, 7 P.M.

Buckley Recital Hall, Arms Music Center, Amherst College

On Saturday evening, March 7, 2026 at 7pm in Buckley Recital Hall at Amherst College, the Amherst Symphony Orchestra presents Beethoven's iconic Symphony #6 ("Pastoral") as the first this winter term of three masterful Sixth Symphonies. Beethoven's five movement tone poem evokes joyful feelings of arriving in the country, and depicts a babbling brook, dancing in the town square, taking shelter from a sudden storm and gratitude for the bounties of Nature.

The concert opens with Mozart's fiery Overture to his opera Don Giovanni, and features Amherst student Kevin Hwang '26 as soloist in Mozart's Fourth Violin Concerto.  Admission is free and no tickets are required.
