​​​The Amherst Symphony Orchestra celebrates its graduating seniors on
Sat. May 2 at 7pm in Buckley Recital Hall!
Yvan Grinspan '26 performs Sergei Prokofiev's fiendishly difficult Third Piano Concerto, followed by Sergei Rachmaninoff's gorgeous and iconic Second Piano Concerto (Rebekah Hong '26, soloist; John Joire '26, conductor).  The ASO then closes with Dmitri Shostakovich's Sixth Symphony - a Janus-faced masterpiece disguising social commentary on Stalin's 1939 Russia both with profound symphonic rhetoric and riotous circus romps.
